Athletes

Convalescents

Preconceptual & Pregnant Women

Scientific evidence shows that taking a folic acid supplement at preconception and during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy can slightly reduce the incidence of neural tube defects in the feotus, such as spina bifida.  Omega 3 fatty acids from fish are essential for the formation of new tisues and particularly important for the developement of the brain, nervous system and retina.  During the last three months of pregnancy there is a rapid accumulation of omega 3 fatty acids in brain and nerve tissue and access to these has potentially long term effects on behaviour and learning

Smokers
